"Expect a Miracle"  - Pauline Hoit

Although it is not yet 6 pm on Sunday, I

• dove into the pool after doing sweaty labor
• rode my horse on some great trails early this morning and noticed how he loves to experience new places
• felt and heard the coastal breeze murmur through the oak trees (California climate!)
• drank my favorite beverages: a wonderful cup of coffee with real cream and a fountain Diet Coke with lots of ice
• loved two dogs
• finished a good book and moved on to another
• watched a police drama on Tivo while I dressed this morning
• played with my IPad while sitting on a chaise lounge under an umbrella
• enjoyed clean running water and indoor plumbing multiple times
• talked to some nice hikers and mountain bikers who shared the trails with me and smiled as the kids were thrilled to pet my horse
• pulled my horse trailer which makes me feel like a capable woman
• ate fresh pineapple, watermelon, mango and blueberries
• fed watermelon rinds to the horses and laughed as they slobbered
• read the Sunday newspaper
• felt love and gratitude for family members (thanks, Dad, for the IPad and the trailer)
• shared my chaise by the pool with both dogs
• watched my husband care for the beautiful flowers in our yard
• was inspired and wrote this newsletter

plus about 1,000 other miracles that I have already forgotten or didn't write down.

I can walk through every day being filled with grace and appreciation for very good reasons.

What would be on your list?

Add a simple ritual to appreciate the miracles. Before you go to sleep every night, make a short list of three things that happened that were good.

You will be astonished at all the grace and appreciation for your life.
